ABOUT AINO SALTO 

In a retelling of Finnish mythology, Aino is a character who escapes a man she does not want by transforming herself into a fish and living in the lake with the goddess of the lake. A salto is simply a brilliant move, and an invitation to stir things up.
Unfortunately, Aino can’t do a salto yet, but she’s definitely working on stirring things up.

In January 2025, Aino Salto released her first EP, ‘Imagine People As Adolescent Birds’, for which she was able to play concerts throughout Switzerland with her favourite band (Paul Butscher – flgh, Luzius Schuler – keys, Tabea Kind – double bass, Eddy Sonnenschein – drums).

This was followed in February 2026 by her second EP, ‘Guesswork’, featuring tracks such as ‘Kill The Bourgeoisie’ and ‘Hedgehog Days’, and in April 2026 by her third: ‘Feeding the Fantasy’, featuring the track ‘Poppies Forever’.
With lyrics that are sometimes political, always subversive, and cheerful melodies, Aino and her band snuck onto festival stages and the Montreux Jazz Fall Residency 2025.
Aino’s message is clear at every concert:
another world is possible, and we’ll feed the imagination until that world becomes reality.
